Nov 17, 2025: To get long URL shortened has been a common practice in order to share long web links safely (without broken or get truncated during transfer via email/messaging). There used to be many free services such as tinyurl.com, bitly.com, etc. However as bot hackings and abusive use becomes a way of life on internet, the free/open access to these services are becoming harder. We have created such service for the community members on AnimalGenome.ORG, easily accessible by those who has an AGRC directory account.

Oct 06, 2025: The so-called AnGen Directory user authentication and profile management tool is renamed to Animal Genome Research Community (AGRC) Directory to reflect the fact that it's been used more and more as a generic user profile/authentication tool for multiple web services and listservs on the AnimalGenome.ORG site, avoiding a perceptional confusion that it's (although traditionally it WAS) part of AnGenMap Listserv. AGRC Directory now serves FAANG website and listserve, Lush Animal Geneticists and Breeders Pedigree, AnGenMap community, etc.

For example, its "version 4.4" is now "version 2025-08-13". Version 2025-08-13 of the LPT ontology data with 500 terms is updated to the public portal.

Aug 06, 2024: The local SNP maps are updated with the new data from EVA dbSNP Release 6 (2024.07.03) on 19 genome builds in 7 livestock species. In addition, SNP map liftovers were performed on 3 supported genome assemblies where dbSNP data are not available. The new SNP map data will be used for the next QTLdb data release later this month.
