Subject: SMBE 2025 thematic Symposium on Colonizing New
Environments and Invasiveness
Date: Tue, 21 Jan 2025 11:50:55 -0600
Dear Colleagues,
We are thrilled to announce that we are organizing a thematic
symposium Titled "Colonizing New Environments and Invasiveness" at
the upcoming Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution (SMBE)
Annual Meeting, which will take place in Beijing, China, from July
20-24, 2025.
The ability of organisms to colonize new environments and, in some
cases, become invasive is a fascinating and complex process
influenced by genetic, ecological, and environmental factors. This
symposium will explore the biological mechanisms underlying these
processes, with a focus on the molecular, genomic, and evolutionary
dynamics that drive species' ability to establish, adapt, and thrive
in novel habitats.
Our goal is to bring together researchers from molecular biology,
ecology, and evolution to share insights, foster collaborations,
and discuss cutting-edge approaches to understanding colonization
and invasiveness.
We warmly invite you to submit abstracts showcasing innovative
research in these areas. The abstract submission deadline is January
31, 2025. For more details about abstract submissions and the SMBE
Annual Meeting, please visit: http://www.smbe2025.org/.
Organizers
- Sangeet Lamichhaney, Kent State University.
- Zhenyong Du, University of Wisconsin-Madison.
- Aibin Zhan, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese
Academy of Sciences.
We look forward to your participation and to seeing you in Beijing!
