Subject: Bayesian Data Analysis in R - Online Course (3-7
        March 2025)
Date: Wed, 27 Nov 2024 11:58:01 -0600
Dear all,

We’re excited to inform you that registrations are now open for our Bayesian
Data Analysis in R course, running online from 3rd to 7th March 2025. This
course offers both beginners and those with some prior knowledge of Bayesian
methods a chance to gain practical, hands-on experience with Bayesian
regression models.

Course website: https://www.physalia-courses.org/.../course46/

This course will provide a solid foundation in Bayesian data analysis using
practical examples and hands-on exercises. You’ll learn how to apply Bayesian
methods to regression models, assess model fit, and interpret the results,
while gaining confidence in using Bayesian inference for real-world
applications.

By the end of the course, participants will:
1. Understand the basics of Bayesian inference.
2. Fit various regression models and assess model fit.
3. Select priors using predictive checks and validate models.
4. Communicate results effectively with visualizations.

Course Outline

Monday: Introduction, basics of Bayesian analysis, generative-process models
Tuesday: MCMC methods, Bayesian parameter inference
Wednesday: Model checking (prior & posterior checks), generalized linear models
Thursday: Model comparison (Bayes Factors), multi-level modeling
Friday: Best practices, final discussions and Q&A

Prerequisites

• Basic knowledge of R (tidyverse package will be used).
• Previous experience in Bayesian analysis is helpful but not required.

Why Join?

This course will equip you with practical skills for applying Bayesian
analysis to your own data. Whether you're just starting out or looking to
deepen your knowledge, this course provides the confidence to tackle Bayesian
data analysis.

Best regards,

Carlo
