The Center for Quantitative Genetics and Genomics (QGG), Aarhus University,
Denmark has an exciting PhD position, Integrating Complex Multi-Layer Data to
Accurately Predict Breeding Values for Methane Emission in Cows.
The PhD project aims at developing prediction models capable of efficiently
integrating complex multi-layer data, including the host genome, rumen
microbiome, gene expression (mRNA levels), and metabolome. The student will
have a unique dataset to work with: metagenome, 16S rRNA, and metabolites
from rumen samples; RNA-Seq and blood metabolites; daily methane emission and
feed intake along with all production, reproduction and health data from 500
Holstein cows.
