What's new on the NAGRP animal genome web site (#2, 2007):
- 1 -
A new interface to the AnGenMap mailing list and member directory
is created (the old interface/forms were heavily hacked and services
suspended since January).
URL: http://www.animalgenome.org/...in/angenmap/angendir
Besides the newly added security measures, the new design also offers more
functions:
o You can edit your profile
o You can manage your subscription/unsubscription to AnGenMap
through a web form (the usual "angenmap-request" way still works).
o You can manage your primary and alternative email addresses
(suppose you have multiple mail boxes and you wish to receive
AnGenMap mails on one while can post from all others)
o Personalized passwords (previously common password for all) and
automated password help for you to change/retrieve your password.
o A set of managing tool is also built so now you can ask the site
manager to delete an entry (previously this was not available).
- 2 -
An NAGRP sheep genomics web site is setup to list all sheep genome
research related resources, links and databases.
URL: http://www.animalgenome.org/sheep/
- 3 -
A number of new structural genomics information are aligned to
respective QTL maps. These include:
o Respective Affy array elements to QTL maps for pigs and cattle.
o Respective Oligo array elements to QTL maps for pigs and cattle.
o SNPs stored in Genbank to respective chicken, pigs and cattle
QTL maps.
Check out each map at http://www.animalgenome.org/QTLdb for more details.
The QTLdb user guide, "the Frequently asked questions: An Introduction to
using the QTLdb" is also updated.
URL: http://www.animalgenome.org/QTLdb/faq.html
If you have an Affy/Oligo expressed data set for map locations to aid the
expression data/QTL information mining, please contact us.

More functions are added to the GO Terms Classifications Counter:
now the "counted terms" and "odd terms" are listed along with their
occurrences to help users better analyze and improve their GO terms
classifications.

See more details in a revised user guide:
